Contrary to what foreign people seem to believe, Almodovar films do not reflect Spanish reality. They are over-the-top for us, too. I met someone some time ago who thought that all the taxis here were as the one in the movie. No, they are not, they are regular taxis. That's why the one in the film is funny.<br /><br />We, Spaniards, have always to fight against this kind of misconceptions when traveling abroad. For this reason, the younger generations are tired of Almodovar (well, that and the fact that he does not pay taxes in Spain but that's another story).
