My go to would probably be High Society. And I was sad about the ending too.Amandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13701724130997076650noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2335502008944631925.post-11369726413218439872017-09-26T08:20:02.260-07:002017-09-26T08:20:02.260-07:00Me too...I was heartbroken! As hardcore fan of classic musicals, I appreciated a lot La La Land. I admit that maybe it was a bit overexposed and got a bigger hype than it truly deserved but you can't blame us, musical-lovers. We only get a movie like this once in a looong while.

And, yes, Emma Stone's performance in Audition was absolutely touching. Mind that it is a very difficult one to nail because there is nothing else to support you but you and your big eyes (I love those eyes). Neither Stone not Gosling had previous experience dancing and they were forced to perform the whole musical numbers in one take. Stone once tripped and felt to the floor but she picked right up and kept on going with the scene. Oh and Gosling's piano was all his. He learned to play in just three months. Hum, sorry, I'm gushing.

Yes, I really enjoyed the film and I was crying by the final number. :'( Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11059769036033777078noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2335502008944631925.post-15006307196044724122017-09-20T13:23:43.821-07:002017-09-20T13:23:43.821-07:00Hope you get well soon Amanda!
I am completely th...Hope you get well soon Amanda!

I am completely the opposite with this one though (what a shock haha)....I really just absolutely loved it. I thought it was so well done and worked on so many levels- I loved their relationship, their individual arcs and just how the whole thing played out.

I guess some things we've seen before but I think it just didn't bother me because I was swept up in it (btw I am huge SATC fan :D)

I loved all the music from it, and that it was LA, and all very old school style and just a bit magical.

It is tragic you didn't like it...how disappointing. There is nothing better than watching musical when you're ill...my preference is the Sound of Music followed closely by Singin' in the Rain ashleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04507261316559745497noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2335502008944631925.post-43908876483914589842017-09-19T04:15:15.934-07:002017-09-19T04:15:15.934-07:00I knew there was a reason I hadn't seen this m...I knew there was a reason I hadn't seen this movie yet. :) Though I like both actors, I was hesitant, and it sounds as if I had good reason to be.
